We’re incredibly lucky to have ended up here in Cordova Bay. As we’ve gotten around this amazing city this past week, it’s become clear to me that this is the perfect spot for us. The neighborhood is quiet, but lively enough. There are grocery shops within walking distance, as well as a really nice restaurant right beside the ocean. Of course I’ve mentioned the ocean, but there’s also a small forest, suitable for morning walks. When we leave the neighborhood to drive towards the city via the highway, we see a beautiful lake as we come down a hill. You can ride your bike all around the lake or just enjoy the sun from one of the small beaches.
Today we went to get me a bike as well, so I can enjoy the beautiful rides Joop’s been enjoying ever since he bought a bike. My bike should be ready on Saturday. We also went to buy a car, which was a bit more scary, but we managed, I think. Even though we try to enjoy our surroundings, vacation-style, in reality we more or less spend our days running errands, trying to make sense of the food and the traffic and just basically figuring everything out. We’re totally exhausted at the end of the day, but of course it’s worth it.
I’ll be back soon, sharing some photos of the hike up Mount Douglas we did yesterday. Stunning views, sore legs.
xo!
